A native of Washington State, I was lucky enough to be born and raised by fabulous hippie parents who encouraged me to find my own path in life. Along that journey I've gone to school for film and video, been a cosmetics counter manager and freelance artist, delved into Yoga, was in a year and a day Pagan apprenticeship, completed Reiki mastery training and an Aromatherapy course, and generally strive to be a good person. I'm totally enjoying the evolution of life and curious to see what the Cosmos will offer next.
Since I don't do higgly-de-piggly-de however, I, naturally, have a list of the things I'd like the Cosmos to assist me in exploring. It's colour coded sometimes. Shows off my obsessive (but not addictive) tendencies nicely. And so far the Universe has been right on board. Or I have. Whichever way it may be: life has been and looks to continue its kindness towards me.
I adore my cats, heavy whipping cream in black tea, and the way the Pacific Ocean has moods of blue. I think taking baths is an art form and am working to perfect it. My father long ago christened me Neo-Victorian, which I am very proud of being. I want to try laudanum. Knitting, mansard roofs, corsets, Swendenborg and Spiritualism, a leaning towards idealised concepts such as Love, Truth, Nature, and Beauty: all please me thoroughly.
Since I have quit working regularly and went travelling overseas and am now just focusing on Yoga training I am amazed at how charmed a life I'm leading. Who doesn't have an answer, of even the most superficial nature, to the question "what do you do?" I am of the opinion that I should simply respond "I do Yoga." True - I probably won't be in an asana (posture) when asked, and true too that I'm not teaching ongoing classes or even likely to again for a while, but true also that Yoga is about breathing, about being present to life - all of which I'm working diligently and devotedly upon.
This site was started at the request of two dear friends of mine, who are known on the blog as Snow White and YarnMama. It's dedicated to the two of them, as well as the many other wonderful, talented, generous people I am blessed to have in my life. Love you all to Infinity!
