Libra Horoscope for week of October 30, 2008

Here are some of the questions you might want to ask yourself in the coming days: 1. "Am I dallying with minor challenges that are beneath me?" 2. "Are my current dilemmas truly worthy of my soulful intelligence?" 3. "Should I go in search of more interesting problems?" 4. "Is it time to upgrade the level of mistakes that I'm risking?" Uh oh.  I mean, I got to Esalen Sunday evening and within a half hour of our first class had already gotten a big smackaroo from the Universe (dressed in blue skin and prowling the cremation grounds this time).  Been told in no uncertain terms what is up.  Thankfully, I've got the ever present wrist embedded deities to support me and several years behind me of prayer and chaos and love of life.  Basically - I've got faith.

Also got a cold.  Woke up with it Monday, despite getting to bed early Saturday and doing my best not to get dragged down by the travel.  Apparently jetlag I'm good at fending off, simple knock you out illness though, while I'm not visited by often, is something I can't resist.

Brekkie Soup

Is one of the best things ever. I leave Kripalu today with a great love of the abundance of soup that they provide.  A decent bowl of veggie/miso soup and a couple scoops of Hawthorne Valley biodynamic whole milk yoghurt with either a few heated prunes or poached apples and pears with cinnamon = a perfect amount of food that doesn't remind me at all of the basic breakfast foods I dislike at breakfast.  (Traditional brekkie items are great at 3:30/4am to settle the tum after running amok in bars or 3:30/4pm after being incredibly wicked in bed on the weekend.  But otherwise breakfast items make me pretty nauseous.)

Now, got one more class to nip off to.  I believe we're doing Body Prayer this morning - so those of you I know and love (not the random folks who stumble here looking for dirty knickers and such weird things), I will surely be keeping you in my heart and loving you fiercely through cycles of Surya Namaskar.  I can think of no better reason to do those!  

(I will probably pray for the random people too, it's the nature of prayer really, isn't it?)

October 5th

Libra babies grow up into awesome people.  This is why I know so many other Libras.  We share our awesomeness happily with all and most delightedly with one another.  Today is Kev-Tron's birthday.  Happy birthday, Kevy!  (Who has graciously agreed to drink tonight in my stead.  I can only hope there will be photos...)

This day a year ago I began a weekend marathon of excellent sex.  Interestingly, while it was indeed very fun, I'm actually happier to be spending this year's celebratory birth energy on my Yoga mat.  And be deeply questioning if I even want to drink at my going out events and house boat events next weekend.  It's not just being here doing Yoga this week either, I've been kicking around and pondering this vein of thinking for sometime now.  I will say this though: given a choice between sex and alcohol to commemorate my birthday - I choose sex.  Without a doubt.  Which means that I'll likely decide to drink next weekend if I begin menstruating and sex is not an option.  Fingers crossed Mia Madre La Luna is nice about this and the timing...

Bad news: either two fresh bugbites on my left hand or a revisit of whatever disfigured me in California.  Meah.  If it is the later, I may have only myself to blame because I didn't finish my run of antibiotics.  But really - these look like bug bites.  The ones before did too.  What is wrong with me?  

October 4th

I've been greatly amused by today. It's Davy's birthday and I think wishing him the best from afar is a much better use of October 4th than what I did last year. Anyone remember? What happened two days before my birthday that caused me to chop my hair off and cancel all my hiking plans in New Zealand?

That's right - a year ago today I got my broken arm plastered. Broke it the 29th of September. Hiked until the 2nd. Travelled the 3rd. Got a massage and wax and facial the 3rd too. And free chocolate at a nice restaurant. On the 4th I finally got around to the doctor and found the arm was indeed busted. After that I went yarn shopping. With little luck. Apparently JJ's Iron Pot exports the best colourways. The 4th was also the day that I tried a bum calling card number on about three different payphones trying to get hold of my mother and couldn't and nearly fell apart. Then the clever nice lady at my Napier hostel figured the wrong access number was on the back.

Yes, I certainly like this year's October 4th more. It's going to conclude with my hippie self going to a chant thing with Kali Ray, the creator of Kali Ray TriYoga. I don't know anything about that. Just know I like to chant. So I'm off to chant.
